Louisiana Contemporary Annual Juried Exhibition
Louisiana Contemporary is a statewide juried art exhibition organized by The Ogden Museum of Southern Art.
Established in 2012, this annual juried event promotes contemporary art practices in the state of Louisiana and provides exhibition space for the exposition of art by artists age 18 and over residing in the state of Louisiana.

Up to $1,500 in awards will be presented to participating artists including a $500 Best of Show cash award. Purchase awards sponsored by state businesses, industry, and corporations are optional.
Online entries should be received at the museum by midnight, July 2, 2012. Mailed entries for Louisiana Contemporary should be received at the museum with a postmark of July 2, 2012
Accepted entries (shipped or delivered) should be received at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art no later than 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2012
MEDIA AND SIZE
All media are eligible. Work will not be judged by media categories. Work using materials that are hazardous to the health and safety of the public will not be accepted at the discretion of the museum.
2D work must be ready for installation with appropriate hardware and hanging instructions. Works that require framing must arrive ready to hang. 3D work must be ready for display including all materials required for installation with the exception of standard pedestal bases used by The Ogden Museum of Southern Art.
Display and packing instructions should be included with all work.
Work should not exceed 100 lbs. in weight and 5 ft. in any direction.
FORMS AND FEES
Online submissions are preferred. See prospectus at www.LouisianaContemporary.org.
If mailed, submissions should include: completed and signed Louisiana Contemporary Entry Form, labeled CD, 4Ē x 6Ē quality color prints, image List, SASE (self-addressed, stamped envelope), brief artistís statement, and entry fee.

A non-refundable fee of $35 is required. Artists may submit up to three entries; $10 for each additional entry in excess of 3. Make checks payable to: Ogden Museum of Southern Art.

The Louisiana Contemporary Annual Juried Art Competition prefers online entry.
For mailed submission the museum accepts ONLY digital images in a CD-ROM format. Artists should submit electronic images in JPG (at least 300 dpi). Entries submitted without electronic images will be disqualified. No slide entries will be accepted.
All images should be clearly labeled with the following information:
Artistís Name.Entry#.Title of Work.Year.Media.jpg
Label the CD with the artistís full name and "Louisiana Contemporary" inside a clear hard case for handling. Electronic images should be accompanied by 4" x 6" photo quality digital or photographic prints.
Accepted work will be disqualified if misrepresented or photos are digitally enhanced. Each artist may submit up to three entries. Only one digital image per 2D entry; 3D work may include a detail shot.
ALL ENTRIES SHOULD INCLUDE
Image List of submissions in a Word document (.doc or .docx format only) in print and on CD (if mailed): 1) Artistís Information (name, address, email, contact numbers) and 2) Entry Information (i.e. name, entry number, title of work, year, medium, size, etc.) and a brief artistís statement (maximum 150 words).
All application materials will become property of The Ogden Museum of Southern Art. CDs will not be returned. Artists agree that The Ogden Museum of Southern
Art may use images for educational and promotional purposes. Work should be original and the sole copyright property of the artist. The Ogden Museum of
Southern Art will be indemnified for any legal claims on the submitted work.
The Louisiana Contemporary annual juried art competition is open to all artists 18 years and older residing in the state of Louisiana. All work must be original and completed within the last two years. Work previously submitted to Louisiana Contemporary or exhibited at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art may not be resubmitted.
Notification of accepted entries will be sent via email and/or the postal service using SASE where email is not applicable. The Jurorís decision is final. Late, incomplete, or non-compliant entries will not be considered.

INSURANCE AND PURCHASE AWARDS
Accepted entries will be insured ONLY during the installation and exhibition of work at The Ogden Museum of Southern Art. The artist is responsible for all insurance and shipping costs during travel.
Please ensure that work is securely packed and labeled for both shipped and hand-delivered submissions and for return shipping. The Ogden Museum of Southern Art will not be responsible for loss, theft, or damage to work with inadequate packaging and shipping provisions.
All works should have a purchase award value listed. This is the amount for which the artist will receive if the work is accepted for a purchase award. All works must have an insurance value. It is recommended - but not necessary - that the insurance value equal the purchase award value. Please include both the purchase award price and insurance value on the Entry Form. A signed Insurance Form will be required for all accepted entries. Works not eligible for a purchase award must clearly be marked NFS but must still have an insurance value indicated.

SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
Accepted entries may be shipped or hand-delivered. Shipped and hand-delivered work must be adequately packed in secure, reusable containers. Do not send work framed with glass but use acrylic glazing instead. Installation instructions and hardware should be included.
Shipped work should have a pre-paid label for return shipping. Work without return provisions and that which is not claimed after 60 days after the last day of exhibition become property of The Ogden Museum of Southern Art.
