Join the Ogden Museum for a dynamic and fulfilling volunteer experience. From coat check to docent tours, we rely on volunteers to successfully run the Museum's diverse programs.
Volunteers also play a crucial role in the daily operations of The Ogden Museum of Southern Art, whether it's providing one hour a week or twenty. A variety of volunteer positions are available working with the public and behind the scenes. You are invited to become a part of our volunteer staff and join us in helping others discover the beauty of Southern art and culture. Docent Opportunities
Be a key member of the Ogden team by serving as a Docent!
Docents introduce and expand the knowledge about works of art in the collection through tours and gallery discussions for our visitors of all ages.

Volunteer Opportunities
Special Events
Help host/hostess members' previews and other special events. Greet guests, assist staff, check coats and parcels, and serve beverages and snacks. Ensure that visitors do not touch the artwork. Help direct visitors through the galleries.

Administrative
Assist Museum staff behind the scenes. Prepare mailings, training materials, and special projects, provide telephone or other clerical support.

Education
Help children have an enriching experience through hands-on art-making activities at the Museum and in public schools. Assist staff and artists with setup, cleanup, demonstration, and use of materials. Assist in maintaining materials and activity spaces.

Membership
Sell memberships to museum visitors. Assemble, batch and facilitate mail preparation for all membership materials and museum communications.

Lead tours of permanent collections and special exhibitions for school groups and the public.
