Don your best seersucker ensemble - or summer chic - for this party that kicks off the summer social season. Hosted by the Shops at Canal Place, the event benefits the Ogden Museum of Southern Art.

Partygoers will enjoy complimentary hors d'oeuvres from local restaurants and luscious libations; shopping specials, entertainment, and raffles, including: Entertainment, Shopping, Wine, Be a Tourist in Your Own Hometown, Indulgence and Kohlmeyer Circle Art. There's even a seersucker ensemble contest!

What is Seersucker?

Seersucker is the quintessential Southern summer fashion. The word seersucker is derived the hindi, urdu and Persian words "shir o shakara"?meaning "milk and sugar" referring to the alternating stripes woven into the fabric.
