This year’s gala co-chairs, Karen Solomon and Katy Weil, are designing an evening filled with the very best in Southern art, cuisine and music. CUISINE

The Patron party and Silent Auction events will feature Chef Justin Devillier from Le Petite Grocery. In addition to his James Beard Nomination for Best Chef South in 2012, 2013, and 2014, he was most recently featured on Bravo’s Top Chef this past season.

For the Gala dinner, attendees will enjoy a meticulously crafted menu from Chef Donald Link, whose awards include Best Chef South for Herbsaint (2007), Best American Cookbook for Real Cajun (2007), and Best New Restaurant for Peche(2014). His New Orleans restaurants Herbsaint, Cochon, Butcher and Peche celebrate Cajun and Southern regional cooking with an emphasis on locally sourced and sustainably raised ingredients.

ART

Our highly anticipated live and silent auctions will showcase the works of both established and emerging talents from across the South, as well as one-of-a-kind experiences. Years past works have included John Alexander, George Rodridgue, Simon Gunning, Lin Emery, James Michalopoulos, Jack Niven, and more.

The live auction will feature Auctioneer C K Swett, who the NY Times says “has managed to shake up the staid world of auctioneering.” Swett joins the Ogden Museum for his second year as auctioneer at the O What a Night! Gala.

PATRONS

On Thursday, October 16, the Patron Party will be sponsored by IBERIABANK and hosted by Katy and Chris Weil at their beautiful New Orleans home. Highlights from the live auction will be on view, and the event will provide an early opportunity to sample exceptional Southern fare and begin the celebration of the O What A Night! Gala weekend.

MUSIC

With an aggressive music mission, the Ogden Museum has featured more than 100 New Orleans musicians at each O What A Night! Gala. Celebrating 10 years of music programming, the O What A Night! 2014 will continue this strong tradition.
