Summer Camps

The Ogden Museum offers a variety of arts-inspired summer programs where children and youth can discover their own creativity and make new friends while being surrounded by the most comprehensive collection of Southern art in the world. From painting to Pilates, the Ogden Museum offers unique summer experiences for kids entering grades 2 through 12.

Art & Drama Camp


June 9 - 20

Working with actor and director Andy Vaught of Cripple Creek Theater Co., students will learn basic art and performance skills, create the script, props, scenery and more for an original multi-act play performed on the last day of camp.

Art & Movement Camp

Students will explore the Ogden Museum’s collection through art projects and creative movement. Working with Museum Education staff and Dance Instructor Liese Weber, students will create functional artworks as well as a choreographed performance piece using the disciplines of yoga, pilates, dance, and more

Photography 101

Working with music photographer and educator Aubrey Edwards, students will learn basic elements of photography including composition, exposure, storytelling, and functions of their camera to create powerful and beautiful images, culminating in a student-curated exhibition. No prior experience necessary. Cameras can be provided if needed.

Advanced Photo & Portfolio Building

Focusing on manual camera functions, lighting, portraiture, photojournalism, fashion, and working in a more intensive environment with Aubrey Edwards, students will learn technical and advanced aspects of photography; this includes studio lighting set ups, photo shoot design and planning. Through feedback and constructive critique, students will create a portfolio of edited work. The camp will culminate in a student-curated exhibition. Students should have a basic understanding of photography or take the Photography 101 in conjunction with this camp.

Fashion Camp

Working with Alison Parker of RicRACK NOLA, students will learn the basics of creating their own garments, including designing, sewing by machine and hand, and creating a personal style. Students will also work with Dance Instructor Liese Weber to create a choreographed performance and fashion show.

Advanced Fashion Workshop

Former 7th Avenue designer and Parsons graduate Veronica Cho will provide a jumping-off point for serious students vying for a career in the fashion world. Students will sketch designs, make dress forms, and create a head-to-toe look that is runway-ready. The camp will culminate in a fashion show for a true 7th Avenue experience.
