Summer Camps

The Ogden Museum offers a variety of arts-inspired summer programs where children and youth can discover their own creativity and make new friends while being surrounded by the most comprehensive collection of Southern art in the world. From painting to Pilates, the Ogden Museum offers unique summer experiences for kids entering grades 2 through 12.

Advanced Fashion Camp


June 8-12

Working with Tracee Dundas, a graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana Fashion/Apparel Design Program and founder of New Orleans Fashion Week, students will develop their skills in design, draping, and sewing to create a one-of-a-kind garment fashioned out of unconventional materials. Students will also create their own fashion mood board, assist with choreography, and model their design in a fashion show presented on the last day of the workshop.

Art & Drama Camp

Working with actor and director Andy Vaught of Cripple Creek Theater Co. and Visual Teaching Artist Suzanna Ritz, students will learn basic art and performance skills, and then create the script, props, scenery and more for an original multi-act play performed on the last day of camp.

Working with Teaching Artist Suzanna Ritz and Dance Instructor Liese Weber, students will explore the Ogden Museum’s collection through art projects, creating beautiful and functional artworks, as well as a choreographed performance piece using yoga, Pilates, and more presented to parents on the last day of camp.

Art & Fashion Camp

Working with Alison Parker of ricRACK, students will follow the process of a fashion designer from sketch to finished product. Classes will start with research and design techniques, figure drawing, and construction (sewing by machine and hand), culminating in a realized "Couture" piece. Students will also work with Liese Weber, Dance Instructor, to create a choreographed performance and fashion show presented to family and friends at the end of the session.

Photo Camp I

Working with music photographer and educator Aubrey Edwards, students will learn the basic elements of photography including composition, exposure, storytelling, and functions of their camera to create powerful and beautiful images, culminating in a student-curated exhibition. No prior experience necessary. Cameras can be provided if needed.

Photo Camp II

Students will focus on camera functions, lighting, portraiture, photojournalism, and fashion with music photographer and educator Aubrey Edwards. Students will also learn technical and advanced aspects of photography including studio lighting set ups, photo shoot design and planning. Through feedback and constructive critique, students will create a portfolio of edited work culminating in a student-curated exhibition. Students should have a basic understanding of photography or take the Photography I in conjunction with this camp.
